Keywords issue exporting from Yoast

    Hi there,

I am trying to move from Yoast Premium to Rank Math. However, when I did give this a go, I found the keywords did not move correctly. In Yoast, for keyword phrases, you have to surround them by “. For example, “this is a keyword phrase”. When moving to Rank Math, the keywords did import to every post. However, they imported the apostrophes too, which don’t exist in the content of course. For this reason, every post has a poor ranking.

Is there a way to get around this? It’s quite important I see the ranking of current posts as I am going through the SEO of the worst ones.

    Kind regards,

    Will

    Hi Will,

We just tested it and the focus keyword import is working fine.

I tried these two keyword phrases in Yoast and they imported into Rank Math just fine:
    Yoast: export to rank math
Rank Math: export to rank math

    Yoast: "export to rank math"
Rank Math: export to rank math

I do see the quotes in the post view list though. But, when you open the post – you will not see the quotes. So, the tests are run correctly on the non-quotes version of your keyphrase.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hi there,

Have you managed to look into this situation yet?

    Kind regards,

    Will

    Hello,

Unfortunately this does not seem to be happening. Upon importing all of the Yoast settings, including keywords, Rank Math shows this:

Another thing is that I cannot see the SEO score of each post – how do I get Rank math to analyse each post without going into each post (so I can target low scoring posts)?

    Kind regards,

    Will

    Hello,

Apologies for the delay, your last response got stuck in our moderation queue and I have only been able to see it now.

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hi there,

I’ve just added sensitive content. Hopefully you can find the issue, but can you reframe from making any changes, as it’s on the live website and I would not like anything to break.

    Kind regards,

    Will

    Hi Will,

I just tested this using Classic Editor, the one you seem to be using, and it is working like you described. I was checking in Gutenberg where it was working like I described.

Let me share this with the dev. team and we should be able to fix this in an upcoming update. If it can’t be made available in an upcoming update, we will offer you a workaround.

We would really appreciate your patience in this matter.

    Hi there,

Okay no worries – I have my Yoast Premium account until September so will use it until then if needed. At least I managed to find you a bug!

Let me know when you have it fixed for Rank Math.

    Kind regards,

    Will
