Keywords in text counted only if exact match

  • Hi,
I am trying Rank Math for the first time and switching from Yoast. So far, it looks very promising.
Just one thing: Page Rank seems to count only KWs that are exact match on the text.

    So, for example:
    KW: web hosting WordPress
Text: “web hosting for WordPress” => not count.

That it’s weird, since your guide page is suggesting not to use stop words.

Is there any setting that I could have been missing?

  • Hello,

We appreciate your honest feedback, we really do.

We know how important synonyms and LSI are for SEO and in fact, we already coded a version of Rank Math with those features but we never shipped it because it was not up to the level of performance as we had expected. So, we never released it and kept that project aside, at least for now. We want Rank Math to be the fastest and best SEO plugin there is and we can’t let anything compromise with that. We would rather have an extremely performant way of doing LSI than doing a half-baked solution. That is why we only look for the exact match of the focus keywords right now.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank Uzair,
I’m happy already knowing that you guys know.
I will wait until this feature will be implemented.
Can you tell me how long could that take?
    Weeks, months?

I really appreciate your plugin and it would be a shame to roll back to Yoast.

    Hello,

It will likely take months before we release an update with that sort of integration.

    Thank you.
