Keywords disappearing / not showing? - Support

Hello,

I seem to have my keywords vanishing inexplicably.

I went from 21 keywords to 9?

I have no idea how this happened?

Moreover, it is not detecting the new keywords I am creating for new posts / articles that I publish.

Further, on the Moz free domain checker, it says I am only ranking for 2 keywords out of dozens that I have created.

Can someone please help me understand what is going on?

I was considering upgrading to RankMath Pro… But I can’t really justify that at this time, given that the plugin does not seem to be functioning correctly??

Any light you could shed on this matter would be most appreciated.

Are you checking the keywords on your post list view or upon editing them? Please confirm where are you checking the keywords on your site. You can send a screenshot using this tool and share the generated link here.

Also, could you please confirm if the keywords are not getting saved on your site?

If so, please check if you are using a Firewall as it may prevent saving the changes.

If you are using a Firewall, please whitelist this route:

/wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateMeta

Thank you for responding.

I’ve tried the following:

I’ve checked Cloudflare and added a page rule with the above change added in.

I also checked wordfence, and it doesn’t seem to be blocking Rank Math.

It’s still showing “5 keywords”… but I literally have quite a few articles now, with many keyword inputs… none of which are displaying / being detected?

Is there anything else I can do to fix this issue?

Let us know where you are seeing this so we can check and advise accordingly. You can take a screenshot and share the link here.

Meanwhile, if you’re checking your page’s source code for the meta keywords, then you won’t find any since Rank Math does not include the meta keywords tag in the source code.

Google has stopped supporting the keywords meta tag because websites were exploiting it to manipulate search engines and create more organic traffic. This means that Google does not consider the keywords meta tag a web page ranking signal, and using it will not affect your search engine rankings.

However, you can still achieve that using Rank Math by applying this filter on your site:
https://rankmath.com/kb/keywords-meta-tag/#filter

I am now seeing that there are 14 keywords listed in the RankMath analytics tab.

Does this mean Rank Math is simply telling me which ones are actually ranking?

This is actually encouraging to see it is now picking up more data.

Appreciate any input you can offer me, I just want to make sure this is functioning so that I am not wasting my time with more articles / keywords for SEO.

Hello,

There are multiple areas in our analytics module that provide insight into keywords. If you are looking at your analytics tab, then you can follow this guide to ensure that the latest data is showing.

It is also worth noting that your analytics stats should update every 7 days.
