Does RankMath help with SEO specifically for job boards and job listings? And does it do more than what the WP Job Manager plugin does natively in terms of SEO?

Am I able to transfer the SEO I’ve already done from Yoast?

  • Hello, I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing.

Rank Math does offer SEO features that can be beneficial for job boards and listings. It provides advanced SEO capabilities, including schema markup for job postings, which can help improve the visibility of your job listings in search results.

In terms of transferring SEO data from Yoast, Rank Math allows you to import data from Yoast, including metadata like SEO titles, descriptions, and key phrases. However, it’s important to note that some features offered by Rank Math, such as Schema Markup implementation and other advanced SEO capabilities, may not be ported over during the migration process.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with the migration process, please feel free to reach out to our support team directly from here. We’ll be happy to assist you further.

Is there a way to make the schema markup for job listings automatic? Since we get 100s of listings every day it’s unrealistic to be able to provide proper data to all of them. If there was a way to take this data from the job listing automatically that would be great. Since there are already predefined fields when the listing is being made. Also, will this somehow interfere with any of the markups that WPJM does already?

There’s no negative SEO aspect with switching from Yoast to RankMath? Like accidentally duplicating or having something lost or removed in the process of the switchover?

Is this ticket still open? Not sure if the automated message closed it or if I’m waiting for a human.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for the unexpected delays and any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

There will be no duplication of data between Yoast and Rank Math as long as you have deactivated Yoast after migrating the data.

Changing the SEO tool may indeed affect your ranking (in a good way), as long as you have properly migrated all the data from Yoast including all the meta and settings, your ranking shouldn’t be affected.

Back to your question with regard to the Job posting, we suggest disabling the schema generated by WP Job Manager as this will indeed cause some conflict with ours.

You may use our Schema templates to globally apply job posting schemas to your job posts. See this guide here for that: https://rankmath.com/kb/schema-templates/

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need my assistance with anything else.

    Hello,

Thank you for your reply. If I do a Schema Template, am I able to configure it in a way that it pulls information directly from each job listing so that the schema is unique to that listing rather than it being generalized? For example, Title, Expiry date, position etc.

    Hello,

Yes, that is possible and this is usually done using custom fields in your post. If you are using that field, then you can just use this variable %customfield(FIELD_NAME)% to your schema fields to make it dynamic.

However, the schema template is only available for the PRO subscription. https://rankmath.com/content-ai/#pricing

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need my assistance with anything else.
