    Hello,
I hope you are doing well. I am currently facing an issue where my website seems to be predominantly appearing in video searches rather than general searches. Upon investigation, it appears that this is happening because Google is incorrectly indexing the main pages of my website as video content, rather than as text-based content as it should be.
I am using Rankmath to manage the SEO of my website. Could you please guide me on the necessary steps to configure Rankmath in such a way that Google accurately recognizes the primary text content of my pages, while treating any embedded videos as supplementary content? Despite reviewing the Rankmath settings, I haven’t been able to resolve this issue.
Your assistance in providing detailed instructions for configuring Rankmath to rectify this misindexing of the main pages as video content would be highly appreciated. Furthermore, if there are any additional recommendations or best practices specific to optimizing the visibility of text-based content within search results, I would be grateful to receive them.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
    Best regards,
Joaquín, developer, yumyumvideos.com – RankMath Pro

  • Hello,

    Thank you for contacting support.

We just checked the website you referenced and it seems that you have the PRO plugin even though you are connected to a Free account.

Please note that the support for the PRO plugin can only be done on accounts with the PRO subscription or if the website can be confirmed to have a valid PRO subscription which is not the case here.

In any case, we just checked the website and we don’t find any Video Schema that would indicate to Google that the website is primarily a video website, however, if you have a lot of videos on the homepage, which you do, Google might be seeing those videos and mostly indexing the page as a full video page.

It’s not possible for a plugin to force Google to index and view a page as a particular type of page as we can only control the metadata and Schema and there’s no reference of videos on that, so it’s all about the content you have on your page.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
