Issue with Diacritics in Snippets (Latest Rank Math Version)

#1019780
  • Hello,

I have encountered an issue with the Rank Math plugin in the latest version, specifically with the recognition and processing of diacritics in the SEO snippets. When I add keywords with diacritics (for example, “Iași” or “videograf”), Rank Math transforms them into the non-diacritic version (for example, “Iasi” or “videograf”). This affects the correct recognition of keywords and may impact proper indexing in search engines.

I have checked the settings and updated the plugin to the latest version, but the issue persists. I would like to know if there is a solution or if this behavior is related to a specific setting. Also, if there is any information regarding the Rank Math Pro version, I would appreciate knowing whether it resolves the issue.

I place great importance on using diacritics correctly on my website, and this issue affects my ability to properly optimize content for SEO.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Are you using a page builder on your website (Elementor, Divi, etc.)? If so, please share the name of the builder.

Meanwhile, if the database or server is not configured to handle UTF-8 properly, characters with accents or diacritics may be displayed incorrectly. This is a common cause when the database collation is not set to utf8mb4, which supports a wider range of special characters.

You can get in touch with your web host for assistance checking your database.

    Looking forward to helping you.
