Hello,

I have recently returned to Rank Math after testing Yoast – which didn’t work out well.

I have already previously setup Google Instant Indexing with Rank Math and already have everything in place at the Google end. However, I cannot work out how to download the JSON file from the EXISTING property / Google API to upload into the Rank Math console? How do I do that?

Or do I need to delete previous properties and start again?

Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

The json key can’t be recovered if lost. You may need to create another JSON key for your project.

I think I’m nearly there but I am now getting this error message in Rank Math:

Error 403
Permission denied. Failed to verify the URL ownership.
=
However, when I check Google Console my URL ownership is verified …?

Hello,

Could you please re-follow these steps to fix this:

On the next page, add the service account as an owner with the button:

Then, head back to the Search Console and refresh to confirm that the service account has been added correctly.

I’ve tried this but I am already added as the owner and it won’t accept my email address as a new owner because it’s already registered …

Hello,

Thanks for getting back.

If you have followed all the steps correctly and still getting this error then can you try using the http:// version of your URL instead of https://?

Or check if you have verified the website on the Google Search Console using https and if not then please do and try again.

It doesn’t work with http://

My site is registered with Google Console as:

https://www.ecoself.net
AND
http://www.ecoself.net

Neither of these or the http:// version work when I test in Rank Math. Still getting the same verification error message ..

And, Do let us know if that works for you? If that doesn’t, then if you do not mind, we may want to check into how you have set it up. Perhaps you can share your Google account credentials in the sensitive data section for us to check.
