  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear that you are facing a 403 Forbidden error message when trying to use Instant Indexing. This issue can be frustrating, but we can help you resolve it.

To fix the 403 Forbidden error with Instant Indexing, you can follow these steps:

    1. Change the API Key in Rank Math: You can try changing the API key within the Rank Math plugin. Navigate to Rank Math SEO → Instant Indexing → IndexNow API Settings → API Key and click on the Change Key button.

    2. Using the cPanel’s File Manager: If your host uses cPanel, you can add the API Key text file to your WordPress website’s root directory. You can log in to your cPanel account, navigate to File Manager, select the public_html folder, click on the Upload option, choose the API key text file, and upload it to your root directory.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue for you.

We are here to help you with any further questions or concerns you may have.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please try manually creating the API key .txt file in your website’s root directory. You can follow the steps from the link below: https://rankmath.com/kb/fix-403-forbidden-error-indexnow/#add-txt-file-manually

Once done, clear your website’s cache and check again. If the issue still persists, then we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
