    Rank Math free

    Hi,

Just a few days ago I came to know about the power of rank math and for this I replaced the Yoast Seo plugin on my live site with a free version of Rank Math! Thought once all is good, I will go for the PRO version of the same.

It happened that a big issue has come up on the site, since January 4, not a single post of mine is getting indexed on Google! After doing a little research, it was found that this has happened due to changing the seo plugin on the live site.

The child sitemap is not coming inside the main sitemap in google search console, I have submitted the main URL of the sitemap many times but not a single post is getting indexed. The posts which were indexed before January 4 are the only indexed posts. I have around 150 odd posts on my website.

    My website URL is https://apneebachat.com

I have done the changes which you suggested in your blog post – How To Exclude Rank Math Sitemaps from Caching
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

Here is the screenshot for from my google search console from the sitemap section. If you have anything please suggest. Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

The email address shared previously is not available for access to the Google Search Console and only our personal emails from Rank Math can be used for that purpose.

Could you please add the following email and remove the previous one? j******@r***********

That is my email from Rank Math and after you add that I will be able to check the situation in more detail.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Added user to GSC. Please check now. Once done please do let me know. Thanks.

    Hello,

We checked your Google Search Console and the only issue we can find is the fact that you have the Endurance Cache plugin installed on your website and that is caching the sitemap heavily which could prevent Googlebot from reading it properly.

That plugin is usually installed by the hosting provider and to disable it you might need to get in touch with them about this situation.

All the latest URLs are ready to be indexed by Google but since the sitemap is cached and Google is not seeing them, so because of that those are not getting indexed quickly enough.

Hope this helps clarify your doubts.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Thanks a lot Miguel for reviewing my GSC. I have discussed the same with hosting provider and disable Endurance Cache Plugin (there is one file under public_html/wp-contents/mu-plugin/endurance-page-cache.php which gots backup to other folder and deleted)

Now how to check that all is working now after disabling of Endurance Cache Plugin? Please suggest how I come to know.

    Thanks
    Rahul

    Hi Miguel,

Did anyone from your team removed individual sitemap from Sitemap section of Google Search Console?

Earlier I have uploaded parent sitemap as well as child map, thought it would resolve the problem

Parent Sitemap XML added – https://apneebachat.com/sitemap_index.xml

    Child Sitemap XML added-
    1. https://apneebachat.com/post-sitemap.xml
    2. https://apneebachat.com/page-sitemap.xml
    3. https://apneebachat.com/web-story-sitemap.xml

Now I can find that only parent sitemap is there in my GSC
    Parent Sitemap – https://apneebachat.com/sitemap_index.xml

Please see Discovered URLs as 0.

    Submitted sitemaps
Sitemap Type Submitted Last read Status Discovered URLs
    /sitemap_index.xml Sitemap index Feb 9, 2022 Feb 9, 2022 Success 0

    Please suggest.

    Hello,

Yes, you should only add the parent sitemap on Google Search Console as you can see from the guidelines we have here: https://rankmath.com/kb/submit-sitemap-to-google/

If the discovered URLs are showing zero is either because Google has not crawled the sitemap recently and it’s still pending or because all the URLs are discovered via other methods such as internal linking.

We also would recommend that you change your robots.txt file to include only the main sitemap and revert to a more regular file to see if that helps the discovery of URLs.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello,

Could you please suggest on the below which I am using –

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /wp-admin/
    Disallow: /search/
    Disallow: /category/
    Disallow: /tag/
    Disallow: /*.html$

    Allow: /
    Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

    Sitemap: https://apneebachat.com/sitemap_index.xml

    Hello,

That seems like a better option for that file since it only includes the main sitemap and the only other thing would be to remove the rule that allows everything as that is not required.

Hope this helps clarify your doubts.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Are you telling below line to remove –

    Allow: /

    Hello,

Yes, that doesn’t need to be included as you can see for example from our very own robots.txt example here: https://rankmath.com/robots.txt

Hope this helps clarify your doubts.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
