    Hi,

Just a few days ago I came to know about the power of rank math and for this I replaced the Yoast Seo plugin on my live site with a free version of Rank Math! Thought once all is good, I will go for the PRO version of the same.

It happened that a big issue has come up on the site, since January 4, not a single post of mine is getting indexed on Google! After doing a little research, it was found that this has happened due to changing the seo plugin on the live site.

The child sitemap is not coming inside the main sitemap in google search console, I have submitted the main URL of the sitemap many times but not a single post is getting indexed. The posts which were indexed before January 4 are the only indexed posts. I have around 150 odd posts on my website.

    My website URL is https://apneebachat.com

I have done the changes which you suggested in your blog post – How To Exclude Rank Math Sitemaps from Caching
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

Here is the screenshot for from my google search console from the sitemap section. If you have anything please suggest. Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and we regret the inconvenience caused.

Please check the coverage section in your Google Search Console account and see if there are any errors shown that might be causing the issue.

I checked a few posts on your homepage and found a post that is already indexed. The post seems to have been published on January 14, 2022. Here’s the indexed result: https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fapneebachat.com%2Ftypes-of-cryptocurrency-in-2022-in-hindi%2F&rlz=1C1CHZN_enIN948IN948&oq=site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fapneebachat.com%2Ftypes-of-cryptocurrency-in-2022-in-hindi%2F&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i58.976j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

However, I tested the variations of the sitemaps using https://httpstatus.io/, and the HTTP + WWW variation has a double 301 redirection.

Except for the preferred variation (which should return only a 200 status), all the non-preferred variations of the website should redirect to the preferred variation and return a 301 + 200 status.

Please follow the steps in this link:
https://rankmath.com/kb/couldnt-fetch-error-google-search-console/#5-check-for-the-correct-version-of-the-sitemap and redirect to the correct variation.

You can also get in touch with your web host regarding this.

Once this is fixed, please clear your website’s cache and remove all the sitemaps from your Google Search Console account, and submit only the main sitemap: /sitemap_index.xml.

Further, give Google some time to crawl your website again and see if more pages get indexed.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

How can I provide you details of my .htaccess file, is there any way to upload it ?

    Hello,

The redirections are working fine now. Please check the coverage section of your GSC account and check if there are any errors for the URLs that are not indexed yet.

We really look forward to helping you.

    Thanks.

    Hello Jaideep,

Thanks for letting me know. But how you checked the redirections are working as expected. When I checked the coverage section of GSC I found below

    https://ibb.co/Gt6Vv0S

My post URLs after 4th Jan (apart from this https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fapneebachat.com%2Ftypes-of-cryptocurrency-in-2022-in-hindi%2F&rlz=1C1CHZN_enIN948IN948&oq=site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Fapneebachat.com%2Ftypes-of-cryptocurrency-in-2022-in-hindi%2F&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i58.976j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8) is not indexed yet. Please suggest.

    Hello,

5xx errors are usually caused due to server misconfiguration or other server issues.

Please check if the affected pages are working or not as this might be a temporary issue.

However, please note that crawling and indexing of the website depend on the authority and crawl budget of the website.

It is completely upto Google if they want to index or not index your website. So, if you haven’t willingly or accidentally made your posts noindex and Google still isn’t indexing your posts – it means that either Google doesn’t want to index or hasn’t crawled your posts yet because it hasn’t allocated that much crawl budget to your website.

Please check this website for more details.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello Anas,

I have updated few things in robots.txt and I am seeing this, could you please suggest is this correct? Please suggest.

Also this is my site status in GSC under setting

    https://ibb.co/zmf1JBX

Do I need to do anything?

    Hello,

The setup seems fine for the robots.txt and also your host status is also fine in the GSC. For the issue with the URLs with 5xx errors, please validate the fix in your GSC account, and if the issue persists with the same server error then please get in touch with your host to resolve it.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to your update.

    Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the update. I have done all those changes.

But the only thing bothering me after all the changes – Under Sitemap section of GSC, the even if my sitemap is read by google, but discovered URLs shown as 0. Could you please look and suggest anything on this, please?

    attached screenshot from the GSC

    Thanks

    Hello,

The message of Total Discovered URLs 0 that you see in Google Search Console just means that the URLs contained in the sitemap were already found by Googlebot by other means, instead of via the sitemap. For example, Googlebot may have found the URLs from internal links or possibly from links on another site.

I have also checked your site using the site: search operator on Google, and most of the pages from your site are already indexed.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

    Hi Reinelle,

When you checked using site:apneebachat.com/ it shows URL which are previously indexed when I was using Yoast SEO. Post migration from Yoast to Rankmath none of the URL get indexed.

Earlier Sitemap used to show no.of post indexed under Discovered URL. I have checked in my friends website and it shows all the URL numbers under Discovered URLs.

Please see screenshot from my friend’s website.

    Hello,

The discovered URL count looks correct. If the URLs are not indexing then please check the Coverage section of your GSC account and fix if there are any errors.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to your update.

    Thanks.

    Hi Jaideep,

The above screenshot is from my friend’s website no mine. In my case Discovered URLs are 0. The issue I have in Coverage Section taken care under Removal section. I don’t get why URLs are not in Discoved section.

    Hello,

Can you please try submitting some of the URLs manually using the URL Inspection Tool of your GSC account and share the results with us?

We really look forward to helping you.

    Thanks.

Yes, I have submitted all of my URLs manually, but post 14-Jan none of my post get indexed. Please see result of one of my post submitted on 29th Jan 2022.

Apart from this post, most of the post are not yet indexed.

    Thanks,
