IO am having somewhat of the same problem.
With one big difference – The indexing api zip file will not upload to my site.
I have tried many times to download the plugin files but when I try to upload them nothing happens. the browser window spinner just spins and never follows thru with the process.
I tried uploading other plugins the same way as I am rankmath and they upload with no issues.
So I’m pretty sure it has something to do with the plugin files themselves. i.e. corrupted!
Hopefully you can kill 2 birds with one stone here and help us both out.

Please upload the files via FTP if uploading via the WordPress Dashboard isn’t working.
Once the plugin is uploaded, activate it like you would any other plugin.

This feature is a standalone extension for Rank Math. Please make use of the following link to download the installable files: https://s.rankmath.com/downloadapifiles
You can install this plugin by heading over to Plugins > Add new and upload it to your site or you can extract the zipped file to your wp-content/plugins folder via FTP.

Hello, I have uploaded the API folder via FTP (cyberduck) into wp-content > plugins….and it will not show up in wordpress. I refreshed, logged out, etc. Did I miss a step?
