Incorrect separators on Google search

    Good day

    After doing a Google search for my website I noticed that the search result shows the incorrect separator. The home page of my website is my About page, the search results show Megashot Photography: About instead of About – Megashot Photography which is have set it too in RankMath. I have attached screenshots showing what I mean.

    How can I fix this so Google shows the correct separators set by the RankMath plugin?

    Hi Megan,

    Thanks for getting in touch with us.

    If you check the page source of your homepage – you will notice that Rank Math is outputting the data correctly.

    You just need to give Google some time to update it in their SERPs.

    Thanks for your help

    It has been this way for a few weeks now. Is there any way I can “force” Google to update the SERPs? I have already tried submitting the sitemap.

    Hello,

    The best way to accelerate the crawling is by posting more content (as they said in the official forums: https://support.google.com/webmasters/forum/AAAA2Jdx3sUgrMETG2cVac/?hl=es), since it will build more authority and Google will increase its crawl budget.
