“Incoming Links: Incoming links are the links pointing to the current post from other posts/pages on the same website. There are 8 incoming links in the above image.”

I’m not sure I understand correctly; Have users shared my posts on social networks or websites? It would be great if that were the case. I have at least 4 Incoming Links for each post.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

No, this isn’t about sharing. I will go ahead and share an example:

If you add an internal link inside post A that will link to post B, then post B will have 1 incoming link count.

    Here’s a video screencast: https://i.rankmath.com/P3UPKl

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hi,

Rankmath show that there are some incoming links, but there isn’t any links. what is the issue

    Hello @helpelife,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support today and bringing your concern to our attention.

Can you please head over to your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools and click on the button “Delete Internal Links”?

After that try accessing the involved pages and update them again without changing anything.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

1_ How about if I internally link the posts and they link the tags? I have an online gaming website, so it would make sense to place my tag keywords better.

2_ Several tags have the same category name. is it an SEO problem?

3_ I have about twenty categories, but 600 tags. Is it better to make internal links for tags or categories? I opt for tags.

    Hello,

1_ How about if I internally link the posts and they link the tags? I have an online gaming website, so it would make sense to place my tag keywords better.

Yes, you can add tag links to any/all of your pots.

2_ Several tags have the same category name. is it an SEO problem?

It is completely fine to have tags that have the same name as categories. However, it is better that there is no repetition of categories as tags as that may waste your crawl budget as a tag page that is the same as a category page would double the number of crawls needed for such tags/categories.

3_ I have about twenty categories, but 600 tags. Is it better to make internal links for tags or categories? I opt for tags.

It depends on your content and audience. If your content can be grouped in many different ways beyond the general categories, then you can use tags for internal linking. Also avoid having too many tags that have very few posts.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have questions.

    I didn’t quite understand the answer 2

    Hello,

In simple terms, it’s okay to have tags and categories with the same name, but it’s better to avoid repeating the same categories as tags because it can take up more of your website’s resources and could waste the crawl budget of your site.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Could using different keywords help? I intend to write in the categories and tags short text as the Meta Description .

    Hello,

The focus keywords are only for internal usage and Google won’t know what keywords you are trying to cater to.

In fact, Google no longer uses the meta data for the keywords that some people add to the websites and it has not been using that since 2009.

So, it’s all about the content and whether or not it is abundantly clear to Google that those pages are different in format/content.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

I’ve added tag links in posts to link to pages with the tags used. I will also be adding internal links to the tag pages. But I don’t know if it’s a good internal linking strategy.

    Hello,

This is completely up to you if you believe adding links to your tags in your post will help. Adding tags to your post is a way to categorize your content, making it easier for search engines to crawl and index your pages. However, the impact of tag links on SEO may vary depending on other factors such as the quality and relevance of your content.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
