    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Rank Math does not actually modify the saved data in the database. The attributes are applied dynamically when the post is displayed.

If you already have ALT attributes manually entered on your images then I can suggest that you disable the option to “Add missing ALT attributes”

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

now disabled the option “Add missing ALT attributes”.
But now the attributes of the images that I manually entered for all the images are not displayed. The cache flushed. Re-checked several times. When viewing a site, now there are no attributes.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

The display of image HTML is controlled by the theme. Could you please temporarily switch to a different theme and check if the same problem is reported on images that are displayed within the post content?

It would also help if you could share a link to one of the affected pages so that we can help in checking this.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hi,

The images are loading perfectly fine for us. They are showing the alt as well.

You can right-click the image and do the inspect element. You will see the alt text.

How are you checking that the images don’t have any alt text anymore?

Just checked in google chrome. Right-click to view the code. Check on different articles. Missing alt and title. If you enable filling in the missing attributes with your plugin, both the alt and title of the title of my article are shown. If I turn off filling from your plugin, then alt and title disappear in all articles.
Another question. And yet, why does your plugin work like this – replacing attributes that are already manually registered? What is the problem ?

    Hi,

I have added a screencast in the sensitive data section.

If you check closely, you will notice that the alt text is present.

Please note that Rank Math DOES NOT replace alt or title. We add them to your images on the fly when a page loads. When you disable that option – the alt and title tags we added no longer load so it will revert back to the same condition it was in before enabling that option.

There are plenty of ways you can confirm the same. If you suspect it is replacing the alt and title, please create a screencast using loom.com and share it with us. We would love to see what you are seeing.

    Thank you.

    1. What does it mean – replaces on the fly? If we include rank math for replacement. Next, in the browser, click “explore element”, then we see the title and alt, which substituted rank math. Does this mean that search engines will rank images by name that rank math did? And if I open the Google website, then the pictures – then I will see my images with the names that rank marh substituted?
    2. Why, when the replacement from your plugin is turned on, when I click “explore the element” in the browser, I see both alt and title with names from rank marh. Also, in the browser when I hover over the image, I see a pop-up name for the image. If I turn off the replacement from the plugin, then when I click “explore the element”, I see only the alt that I filled in (by the way, this is also visible on the video). And when you mouse over the image in the browser, the name does not appear.
    3. I then do not understand the meaning of this button. It is called “replace missing attributes.” If my attributes are already registered manually, then why does it replace them? The tool is very convenient and necessary! But … It turns out that it does not work? Am I right?

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.`

Let me repeat what the questions and problems are.
It’s about images: title and alt
    1. When enabled in the plugin settings, replacing the missing attributes, the plugin should replace only the missing attributes. And it replaces all the attributes, even where they are already spelled out. Why did you do that?
It would be very convenient if the plugin really replaced only the missing attributes, and it changes the attributes in all images.
    2. Having seen that the plugin is not working correctly, I decided to disable these two checkmarks:After seeing that the plugin is not working correctly, I decided to disable these two checkmarks: replace the missing attributes.
But now the problem. For all images, when viewing the site, only the “alt” attribute is visible. The title attribute is missing. When you hover over the image, the text (title) does not pop up. It is also missing in the code. It turns out the plugin broke something.
    3. Tell me for the future. Will this attribute setting work as it should? Namely, replace only the missing attributes, and do not touch the filled attributes?
    4. When you will watch my admin panel. Link with access to the “confidential data” field
Thank you in advance. For the fact that you suffer with me!

    Hi Denis,

Kindly check the new screencast I shared in the sensitive data section.

It clearly shows that the missing alt and title option doesn’t work when an alt and title tag is already present on YOUR website.

I did not do anything else, I just went to create a test post and added an image with some alt and title tags.

Just make sure the images actually have the alt and title tags added before you insert them. If you add the alt to images via Media option AFTER you have inserted them into your posts – WordPress doesn’t automatically add the alt and title where those images are being used. You have to keep that in mind.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
