images of product categories not indexed

  • Hello,

    As you can see in the last line in sitemaps, images are not being indexed. I assume that is bad for SEO as it might look that my product-category is very poor.

    Would you recommend having these indexed?
    If yes, how can I do this?

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    This should not cause any worry since the rest of the images on the other sitemaps have been indexed. It will take a bit of time for Google to crawl all the content on all sitemaps and all you can do is wait.

    Sorry, but I am just worried that there is a setting somewhere which I did not set correctly.

    Can you let me know which setting to check to make sure images for product-category will be indexed?

    I have attached a screencast showing you a switch called “Images in Sitemaps”. As long as it is enabled, you don’t have to worry, your images will be included in the sitemaps and then indexed by Google: https://i.rankmath.com/5tfkuF

    I understand what you are saying, but how much time should I wait. The webshop exists for more than 5 years!

    The only things I did about one year ago was:
    – rename some product-categories
    – removed ‘category’ and ‘shop’ from the product-category slug.

    Therefore really something must be wrong. sorry to push, but I would really appreciate if you could take a closer look.

    I have just checked the website, checked all the Rank Math settings, permalinks configuration, and some other potential issues but everything is working fine and well configured.

    So, it seems you don’t have to worry about it, all you can do about your SEO with Rank Math is well done and now the rest is up to Google. I also checked your website in Google Images and it seems you have already some images indexed there.
