  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

You should only have one XML sitemap on your website so the search engines don’t get confused and that’s why we redirect the variations to our own implementation when you have the sitemap module enabled.

If you don’t intend to use our sitemap you can disable that module from WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard > Modules as shown in the image below:

You can then submit your custom sitemap to Google Search Console and monitor its indexing status.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please let me know. I’m happy to help.

    Thanks.

I want to create a sitemap page like this for users: https://www.labnol.org/sitemap

I want to keep the sitemap for search engines given by RankMath. What’s the way out?

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

The redirect seems coming from Rank Math. Could you please confirm if you haven’t added the redirection in Rank Math > Redirections?

Meanwhile, you can choose the page to display your URLs on that specific page on your WordPress dashboard > Rank Math > Sitemap Settings > HTML Sitemap > Display Format.

Here’s a guide you can follow:

Let us know how this goes.

    Hello,

No, having an HTML sitemap will not affect your XML sitemap which is used for search engine crawling.

You can check your sitemap in Google Search Console, under the sitemap section. You may also refer to our guide about it here: https://rankmath.com/kb/submit-sitemap-to-google/

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need my assistance with anything else.

    Thank you.

Should I remove my old site property (www) from the Google Search console? Since I am using “non-www” now and all the posts are indexed now in Google?

Apart from the Sitemap Menu in Google Search console, where else should I submit the new sitemap (non-www) and remove the old one (www)?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

Yes, you should use the non-WWW version in your Google Search Console account since it’s your site’s final version at the moment.

You should only keep one property on Google Search Console and it should match the variation of your website exactly, either HTTPS an non-wwww.

In this case, you may delete any extra properties on GSC as those are not needed and could cause confusion.

Once done, submit again your sitemaps to your Google Search Console account.

    Hope that helps.
