Hello,
Thank you so much for getting in touch.
There is no option to noindex these pages that get dynamically generated. You can add the following code to your robots.txt file to prevent Google from indexing them:
User-Agent: *
Disallow: /?show=oldest
With that said, Rank Math adds canonical URLs automatically so there is no need to noindex these URLs in the first place.
Hope that helps.
Indexed though blocked by robots.txt ..this is what coming if I disallow
Hello,
This is likely because the URL was already indexed.
Please note that the Disallow
directive does not guarantee that a page will not appear in results: Google may still decide, based on external information such as incoming links, that it is relevant: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/robots/robots-faq
According to Google it may take sometime for any URL disallowed for the Disallow to take effect on search results. Also, keep in mind that even if your robots.txt file is disallowing access to a URL, that URL may remain visible in search results despite that fact that we can’t crawl it. If you wish to expedite removal of the pages you’ve blocked from Google, please submit a removal request via Google Search Console.
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
