I can’t edit .htaccess to redirect www to non-www

    Hi,

I have a WWW Canonicalization error in RankMath analysis saying that: The www and non-www versions of your URL are not redirected to the same site.

I’ve tried to change the .htaccess but unfortunately my hosting support told me this:

According to our check, the requested redirect might not work on EasyWP.

Also, There is no .htaccess file as the server is not based on Apache.

As for EasyWP, you can try to use some redirects plugins. Here are some examples: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/redirect/

Please note that there is no guarantee that the redirect would work correctly.

I say that since RankMath has already the feature of redirecting, so maybe I can use it to solve this problem. Is there a way to solve it only by using redirect plugin?

    Thank you.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I am sorry but redirecting domains(other than the current domain URL) is not possible with Rank math redirection module.

They should then have a cPanel or a similar control panel where you can add these rules. You can also suggest to them to do it for you.

If all that is not possible, you can try to use the method suggested here: https://www.ostraining.com/blog/coding/non-www-to-www/ for non-apache servers

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
