How to make Breadcrumbs working - Support

Dear RankMath support team,
I just enabled RankMath breadcrumb and am trying to figure out to put the code (<?php if (function_exists(‘rank_math_the_breadcrumbs’)) rank_math_the_breadcrumbs(); ?>) in function.php of Virtue Theme by Kadence WP. However, the theme won’t allow adding the code. And there is no child theme. Therefore, I tried to put it using Header & Footer Code. First of all, is this the right way to put the code in? If so, when I tried, there was a syntax error.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

You need to add the PHP code in template files, ideally page.php and then use the breadcrumbs shortcode on the pages.

If you want to display the breadcrumbs on every page, add the code at the bottom of the header.php file.

Dear Anas,
Thanks for your reply with the explanation. I’ve added the code to the page.php then add the same code directly to a page that I am testing for RankMath Breadcrumb, using a PlugIn “Head & Footer Code”. The code appears when I checked with the Google Code View. However, the Google Rich Results doesn’t recognize there is Breadcrumb. The rendered code at the Rich Results indicates the below (it looks like commented out).

<!–?php if (function_exists(‘rank_math_the_breadcrumbs’)) rank_math_the_breadcrumbs(); ?–>

Hello,

I have moved your login link to the sensitive data section.

I logged in to your site and added the breadcrumbs PHP code to the bottom of the page.php file.

Then added the breadcrumbs shortcode [rank_math_breadcrumb] to your latest post. The breadcrumbs are now working, you need to add this shortcode on pages that you want you to use the breadcrumbs.
