  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for the delay and for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked your site, and it is indeed showing a different title. However, your title meta tag is already set in your page’s source code. You can also check using this tool.

In this case, you can proceed to check whether Google has picked up on the changes. Please check this link for more information:

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.

    Hello @Reinelle
Thank you a lot for your feedback. The website’s link I gave you on my topic is the example of different titles I would like apply to my website which is : https://www.fashionotography.com 🙂 (fashiongonerogue.com is not my website) !
On mine (ashionotography.com), I want to have titles differents, in post and on google search, but don’t know how to change with Rank Math.
    Hope you can help !
    Thank you,

    Hello,

Thank you for that clarification, and sorry for the delay.

Google uses the <title> meta tag of your site to display the title on the search results page. I’ve checked the page you are referring to, and their title tag is the same as the title of the post.

Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and shows something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.

Here is an example showing Google changes title depending on the keyword used:
    description
    &
    description 2

The best you can do is optimize your meta tags to try and match the intent of the search/keyword.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.

    Hello,
Thank you a lot for your help. So if I understood, the most important is what I put in the key word the <title> meta tag.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes, most of the time, Google uses the text inside the <title> tag for the title on the SERPs.

However, as mentioned by my colleague, there might be cases when Google decides to show a different meta title/description for your search keyword, as sometimes Google ignores the custom meta info altogether and show something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.
