    Hi Team,

Thanks for this wonderful plugin, I have recently moved to it from Yoas SEO and I feel it’s one of the good decision I have made. I have very few basic questions related to the schema.

1.) I can see Article as post schema, is it ok to put how-to or FAQ block schema inside it? Would Google consider it as Howto and FAQ feature-rich snippet?
2.) As per your documents, I understand keeping two How to’s is not recommended, but my technical posts have more than one how to in same article and sub sections also. How to deal with it?
3.) Should I select None as post schema and delete the article one, if I am using Howto block? I can’t find any howto post schema in the drop-down list for a post.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

    1. Yes you can add HowTo/FAQ schema to a post with existing article schema. As for Google consideration, the results that come up in SERPs are usually determined by the search keyword intent.

    2. When using HowTo schema, your the page/post must be specific to what the HowTo guide is about, do not include a HowTo section on a page about something very general resulting to multiple HowTo schema on one page. Instead, create a page dedicated to the HowTo guide that you can mark up using structured data.

    3. The HowTo & FAQ schema can only be added using block editor in the free version of Rank math. You can refer to our guide here on how to add this: https://rankmath.com/blog/howto-schema/

Hope this helps you. Thank you.

Thanks, Michael for the explanation. Only on point 3, what difference does it make, if I have HowTo/FAQ as the global schema for the post or using it as a block in the free version?

    Hi,

Thank you for the follow up.

There is just a slight difference in the two in the fact that, in the Pro version, you have more control of each of the individual properties in the schema and adding the HowTo content to your page is done via a shortcode which means you can add it even on a classic editor unlike on usual case where you can only use it on block editor.

Here is a screencast to show you how tis can be done in the schema tab of the Pro version: https://i.rankmath.com/OGr5nC

    Hope this help
