how to add new sitemap to RANK MATH

    Hey guys it’s Nesim.

    And I’ve been using your plugin for a looong time now.

    And I have a question or even couple of them.

    Since I have added a NEW SITEMAP to my root server of the website and notified the google search console manually of the sitemap I’ve added.

    Why did the RANK MATH not change my sitemap to the NEW sitemap I’ve added to my root server, to my robots and also to google search console?

    I need the rankmath to update my NEW SITEMAP since it’s using the old one.

    My website is: https://bajrontbooks.com

    And my newest SITEMAP is: https://bajrontbooks.com/Sitemap-Mar28.xml

    So please how can I update my NEWEST SITEMAP with rank math or I would need to find a completely separate new plugin to do this.

    Because rankmath is STILL using my first ever created sitemap from december and I’ve added 2 more since then. And rank math is not updating.

    IMPORTANT!

    I was getting around 1390 VISITS every day now I am getting 500-600

    My ranks deteriorated! SO can you help me with my issue regain the ranks by including my newest sitemap.

    I don’t know how rank math doesnt pick up my newest sitemap since I’ve also added the link to the robots.txt folder.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for the delay and for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    I’ve checked your sitemap, and it seems that you have a custom sitemap generated in your website’s root directory. If you wanted Rank Math to generate your sitemap, you may need to delete that static file.

    And you may need to declare this sitemap line only in your robots.txt:
    Sitemap: https://bajrontbooks.com/sitemap_index.xml

    Rank Math automatically updates your sitemap once your posts/pages are published and are set to index. If they are not showing in your sitemap, you can check this link for more information and troubleshooting steps:

    Okay I have already added a new sitemap to my robots.txt file besides the 3 old ones as well.

    So do you suggest I remove the OLD ONES and only leave the NEW one so that the rank math can be able to pick it up and finally bring my site to the LEVEL it was before?

    Hello,

    Thank you for the follow-up, and sorry for the delay.

    I’ve checked your https://bajrontbooks.com/robots.txt, and it seems that you still have 3 Sitemaps URLs.
    Robots

    If you wanted to use your custom sitemap, which is https://bajrontbooks.com/Sitemap-Mar28.xml, you may need to delete the other 2 lines:
    Sitemap: https://bajrontbooks.com/sitemap_index.xml
    Sitemap: https://bajrontbooks.com/sitemap.xml

    Then disable Rank Math’s Sitemap module in Rank Math > Dashboard to avoid conflicts.

    On the other hand, if you wanted Rank Math to generate and handle your sitemap, you may need to delete that static file /Sitemap-Mar28.xml in your website’s root directory as Rank Math creates your sitemap virtually, which means it will not show in your website files. Then delete the other sitemap lines in your robots.txt leaving only your main sitemap:
    Sitemap: https://bajrontbooks.com/sitemap_index.xml

    Okay but what would you suggest me do now?

    Because rankmath doesn’t upload my NEW content to the sitemap I don’t know how but it doesn’t and the sitemap I have with rankmath seems sooo empty.

    So can you help me out which one to choose?

    Because the 28march.sitemap.xml has EVERY SINGLE link added.

    So maybe you’re more qualified to let me know what would be the best for me.

    I was getting 1400+ Views a day now only 452.

    It shows me I messed something up with the sitemaps.

    So please help and thanks in advance
