It varies but you should ideally keep the 301 redirections enabled for 6 months or until you are getting 0 hits on it – whichever comes later.

After that is there any point in keeping them? I mean it has no value or is an issue when google sees redirections stated in htaccess?

I don’t think that Google has access to your .htaccess file and thus it is unable to read the contents. The robots.txt file is the one that is accessible by search engine bots.
I can suggest that you delete them if they are no longer receiving hits after 6 months.
