Hello,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention and apologies for the inconvenience caused.
The ideal length for a meta description is 160 characters. Google generally truncates them to ~ 155–160 characters. It’s a good practice to keep meta descriptions long enough so that they’re descriptive and hence we recommend writing meta descriptions between 50-160 characters.
Since you mentioned that you get cut off at 130 characters, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

Cheers,
Thanks for the answer! The problem is not that it is truncated to 130 instead of 160, but that I want to place meta tags greater than 160. I understand that these are not ideal values, but this is my choice and my experience. Is it possible to add a checkmark somewhere in the settings “I understand all the risks that my snippet will not be perfect and I want to increase the maximum length to … characters”, where I myself could choose how many characters to put, 200, 250, 300.
Hello,
Thanks for your reply.
We only give the suggestion as per Google’s guidelines to keep the Meta Description length up to 160 characters, but you can always enter any number of characters that you wish.
Please have a look at this screencast for a quick reference: https://i.rankmath.com/IZzulp
Also, you can use variables like %wc_shortdesc%
(product short description). Here’s a screencast regarding the same: https://i.rankmath.com/hUk4cp
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
