We are running a website for a client that uses Ocean as the theme, and Elementor.
They have Rank Math. When we go to edit the main Blog page, there is nothing in there for us to add a Page Number for Taxomonies or page numbers at all.

The result is varied pages with the same Meta Description and title Tag.

If I gave you login details, would you be able to check it for us, to see how we can this resolved please?

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Usually, paginated pages are meant to take the page meta tags from the main page. Usually, you can use the page variable will help to add some more info on the meta description. For example, if you add the variable %page% to your description on this page: https://imist.com/latest-news/ then the description below:

iMist International are always full of exciting updates, from accreditations to new offices, legislations for fire suppression and new job roles

On page 2 it will be modified to

iMist International are always full of exciting updates, from accreditations to new offices, legislations for fire suppression and new job roles page 2 of 5.

The value 2 will be incremented for all the 5 paginated pages.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Thank you.

I totally agree, but when I go to edit Blog page, there is no option to add that. Yoast has the same feature. If I give you some secure access, are you able to take a look?

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thank you for that information.

We have tried editing the page through Elementor, but it’s not loading on our end. The issue also persists even with Elementor, Elementor Pro, and a default theme are only activated using the Health Check plugin. Please see the screencast in the sensitive data section.

I’ve also noticed that Elementor Pro is not yet updated to its latest version. Please try updating it and see if the issue still persists.

    I hope that helps.

Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

I’ve updated the elementor pro plugin, but still don’t see where we set the Page numbering. can you please check and if you can resolve, show me how you did it?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

We added the variables mentioned by my colleague to the page in the title and meta description and they show the page they are currently in when you are not on the first page, which is the correct behavior.

After doing that change and checking the second page of the blog section we can see the correct value being outputted.

Moved the screenshots to the sensitive data section to hide website information.

Hope this helps solve your issues.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Brilliant. Can you send me details of how it was done, as I just could not locate it.

    Hello,

Please check the sensitive data section as my colleague inserted the steps he took to achieve that result.

Just to summarize this here are the steps to take:

    1. You first edit the archive page that you want to insert the page numbers.
    2. Select the Rank Math snippet box and click on “Edit Snippet”.
    3. On the popup displayed, add the variable %page% at the end on the title/description.
    4. Then close the snippet and update the post changes.
    5. You can confirm the result by viewing the page source or using a tool such as heymeta.com

Hope this helps. Please do let us know if you have any other questions for us.
    Thank you.
