    Hi!
I migrated from yoast to RankMath and have some issues I cant seem to solve. Thanks for your help!

    So, here they are:

Issue 1. The homepage meta title and meta description dont match what I set on RankMath>Title&Meta>HomePage> “Homepage title” and “meta description”.

Issue 2. Is showing a noindex pages when site:url. On my wordpress backend I selected Pages> selected the page > In RankMath tab selected Advanced > checked the “nofollow” met robot option.

Issue 3. Is showing an old meta title and meta description from a post when site:URL. I already checked the meta title and description on posts>edit>rankmath tab>edit snippet (and it does not match what is shown when site:url)

Issue 4. Is showing old tags (actually I already deleted them before migrating to RankMath), but they are still showing up when site:url. The issue is that if someone clicks on it, its a 404 error.

In general, when “site:url” its showing a lot of the old yoast configuration. You can easily identify the old yoast configuration because it has the yoast pre-defined separator “-” instead of the new by me defined separator at rankmath “|”.

Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for the delay and for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Issue 1. I’ve checked the screenshot and all the issues, it seems that the title is already set in your page’s source code (attached in the sensitive data section)

You can also check this link for more information:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/#3-check-the-description-set-in-the-pages-source-code

Issue 2. The page is indeed set to noindex, but following the steps in the link above, it seems that Google is still showing a cached version of that page. (screenshot in the sensitive data section) However, this page is not existing in your sitemap which should be correct.

To fix this, please remove all your sitemaps submitted in your Google Search Console Account, and resubmit your main sitemap only /sitemap_index.xml then give Google some time to recrawl your website.

Issues 3 & 4. These should be fixed on Google’s next recrawl after resubmitting your sitemap.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance.
