Hidding PAID pages / content

#74513
  • Hello,

I use WordPress PAGES to host my PAID course (embeddeded videos, linked videos, textual content).

What are ALL the options I should check / uncheck to prevent:
    – people finding those pages
    – including robots/search engine

I used to use this plugin to unlist those pages but now I have installed RankMath:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/unlist-posts/

Can you please tell me if the Unlistplugin above is useless once you have RankMath installed. I would not like to do the job twice or having conflicts.

    thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

You could use that plugin together with Rank Math and I think it would be a good idea in your case.

With that plugin, you can hide those pages/posts from users when they search on the website.

With Rank Math, you can prevent those posts and pages to be indexed on Google results.

So, it seems you will have a nice synergy between those two.

To do that, make sure the post is not selected as ‘noindex’ in WP > Posts > Your Post > Advanced Tab in Rank Math.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank you.

Why not check No Follow, No Image Index and and No Archive?

I thought when you checked No Index you were hiding the pages from the users TOO?

    Thx

    Hi,

Choosing noindex only hides the post from bots. Users can still see them if they have the link or if you are linking to that URL from anywhere from your website.

When you choose noindex, checking others is not required because when a post is set to noindex, none of the information will make it into search index.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
