GSC cannot fetch my sitemap

    Two of my sites are not being indexed and the sitemap is read by GSC but says cannot be fetched

    The inspection of https://qualend.pt or https://crcconstrucoes.pt returns an error.
    Also the submission of sitemap it works but returns that in found errors and cannot be fetched.

    I’ve check the robots.txt
    Reset the Wordfence Tables
    Change the plugin to create the sitemap

    I always can access the sitemap
    Both domains are losing rankings since more of the URLs are not indexed.

    The answer of Google Support was:

    https://qualend.pt/sitemap_index.xml points to the other site so you may only have one issue.

    I’m total lost with this. I’ve also check if the cache plugin was caching the sitemap, but at least I don’t find it as cached.

    Sometimes it takes a few days for Google to be able to fetch the contents of your sitemap since it is on a queue. I would suggest that you give this a few days and check whether the result will have changed.

    Total discovered URLs
    1

    Sitemap index processed successfully
    Sitemaps read
    Sitemap Last read Status Discovered URLs
    /category-sitemap.xml 27 Aug 2019 Success 1
    /page-sitemap.xml Couldn’t fetch 0

    I really don’t understand what’s happening.

    Thanks for getting back to us.

    Since you have already been able to replicate this issue on a different sitemap plugin then this might not be a Rank Math issue. Please get in touch with your host so that they can help to check whether there is a server configuration that could be blocking Google bots on your domain.
