Google Shows A Different Meta Title/Description For My Site – NOT working

Why does my meta description for my head terms produce a one line description? I realize that google chooses what meta to show, but this is happening for most my head terms. My original meta description is not showing and this is affecting my conversions. How can I fix this? Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support and sharing your concern with us.

We have checked the share website link, and it seems to be working fine at our end.

Please share the affected website link, so that we can look into the issue.

May I ask you to check again while clearing your cache and cookies of your web browser?

Please also check if you are using any of the cache plugins and cache from the web hosting server end. Clear those cache and check again if that works.

We hope that helps. Please let us know if you need help with anything else.

    Thanks

    Hello,

    Thank you for the update.

I’ve tried checking your homepage, and it seems that is already showing your meta description. I’ve attached a screenshot in the designated sensitive data section.

Could you perhaps share the affected URL and send some screenshots using this tool to check this issue further?

Thank you, and looking forward to your update.

    Hello,

Can you please try submitting the URL in the URL inspection tool in the search console and request indexing?

Google will crawl the page and show the meta description you have set if it is relevant to the search term.

Do note that if everything’s fine and Google still decides to show a different meta title/description for your search keyword, there is nothing you can do as Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and show something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.

Here are some of the common reasons Google might not use the meta description you provided:
The meta description is not relevant or useful (ie, just a collection of keywords).
The exact same meta description is provided across a large number of pages.
The meta description doesn’t match what the user is searching for, but other content on the page does.

There is a whole article dedicated to this on SearchEngineJournal:
    https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-offers-suggestions-for-avoiding-meta-description-rewrites/359884/

Here is an example showing Google changes title depending on the keyword used:
    description
    &
    description 2

The best you can do is optimize your meta tags to try and match the intent of the search/keyword.

Hope that helps. If you have any further question(s), please let us know.
