Google Search Results – Resubmit sitemap?

    I was testing my new website on the subdomain for 2 weeks and Rankmath did its magic and got it visible on Google Searches along with the results from the primary domain. But now I have replaced my primary domain with the new design and have deleted all content/ wp database from the subdomain and even the subdomain itself.

    Primary Domain : tunehoppers.com
    Sub Domain : new.tunehoppers.com (deleted)

    Is there anything I should do to stop the sub domain from showing in the search results?

    Also since the sitemap link to the old website and the new website is the same, should I delete it from GSC and resubmit it or just wait for Google to crawl my website again?

    Thank you for getting in touch with us.

    Since you have already deleted the subdomain, the only way to get it removed from indexing is to submit a URL removal request on your GSC. To do this follow the following steps:

    1). Login to the search console and head over to the remove outdated content page.
    2). Enter the URL (web address) of the page that has the deleted content you want to remove.
    3). Select Request removal.
    If you see the message “We think the image or web page you’re trying to remove hasn’t been removed by the site owner,” follow the onscreen steps to fix this.
    4). If you see the message “This content is no longer live on the website,” select Request Removal.

    Concerning Sitemaps, I can recommend resubmitting your sitemap on your GSC. Please ensure you submit the sitemap on the correct version of your domain. If you have not verified your main domain, please do so then resubmit ONLY the main index sitemap(sitemap_index.xml) and remove any other.
