1. Please delete the sitemaps from the Google Search Console.
2. Clear your website cache and add sitemap_index.xml and *-sitemap.xml (this might be different for W3 Total Cache plugin) to the exclusion list in your Cache plugin.
3. Add sitemap_index.xml file again to your Google Search Console.
That should do the trick.

Hi, I did step by step what you’ve suggested with this tutorial for W3 Total Cache: https://www.hongkiat.com/blog/prevent-wordpress-sitemap-cache/ And it still isn’t working. I deleted the sitemaps, excluded sitemaps from caching, deleted cache, re-added sitemaps to google and it is still showing the same message…
We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

I have saved again your permalinks so the sitemap is regenerated and now the W3 Cache comment doesn’t appear in the sitemap source code.
Could you validate it in the Search Console and wait a few days to check if now everything is fixed?
