Google does not crawl sitemap

    Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    Google is only indexing one URL from your main sitemap because you have also submitted your page, post, and product sitemaps, and all the URLs are already indexed that are included under these sub-sitemaps.

    So that’s not really an issue unless you have some URLs that are not indexed on Google. If you still want the URLs to be indexed from your main sitemap then you can delete all previously submitted sitemaps from GSC and resubmit your main sitemap(sitemap_index.xml).

    Please resubmit your sitemap and use this link to ping Google about it: https://www.google.com/ping?sitemap=https://gekoms.org/sitemap_index.xml

    It will add your sitemap to the list of the sitemaps to be crawled. Wait for a couple of days and let us know if it works or not.

    Thank you for the update, and apologies for the delay.

    I’ve checked your sitemap and it contains 1000+ sub-sitemaps for your products, so it would take time for Google to recrawl your whole website.

    In this case, I would recommend giving Google some time to recrawl your website. I’ve also checked your published product last 2021-05-15 and it’s already showing on the Google search results page.

    Having _ in the sitemap URL will not cause any issues.

    I checked your latest published post and products, they’re already indexed and appearing in the search results.

    It is possible that Google is crawling your website and indexing the posts, products through the internal links on your website and not through the sitemap and as a result, the crawl budget for your website is exhausted and Google is not able to discover the URLs within your sitemap.

    There is nothing to worry about as long as the posts/pages/products are getting crawled and indexed.

    We appreciate the details.

    We tried to check for the issue and there seems to be some issue with some of the individual product sitemaps which seem to be not playing correctly with the product settings. We are trying to replicate this at our end but it does seem like there is some setting in Rank Math not working with the Rank Math sitemaps.

    Please keep the other sitemap plugin enabled and disable the sitemap functionality in Rank Math from WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashbaord.

    In the meantime, we will try and see if we can replicate it from our end and if we do – we will be sure to update you.

    P.S: It is working for everyone else correctly so there is no issue with the plugin. Just some configuration on your website that we are trying to find out.

    I had to manually send 5-7 of the created 23 catalogs for re-bypassing because there were “Not received” errors. and they were immediately updated and the re-workaround errors disappeared.
