Google console says Submitted URL marked ‘noindex’

Google Console is showing all our URLs as being ‘noindex’.

    When I look in the code, I cannot see ‘noindex’ – I see: <meta name=”robots” content=”follow, index, max-snippet:-1, max-video-preview:-1, max-image-preview:large”/>

However I do see lots of duplicate og meta properties in some URLs, not sure if this is connected.

    I have tried:
    – clearing cache & CDN
    – saving Rank Math again
    https://seositecheckup.com/seo-audit/noindex-tag-test/ (it also says ‘noindex’)

Can you please take a look?

    Thanks

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I could not replicate the issue on your staging site. I however checked the post you shared and it seems one of the plugins or the theme you are using is also adding a robots meta tag to some of your posts. Please check the screenshot I have added in the sensitive section.

To determine which one, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hi Michael,

thanks for taking a look. This is really strange…your source is different to mine – line 39 (the noindex line) does not exist for me. I’ve checked in Chrome incognito, Safari private & Firefox….cache etc has been cleared multiple times.

I have added a screenshot to sensitive section.

Do you have any idea why/how this could be happening?

Obv I can’t use the Site Health plugin because I cannot see any problem – ie. line 39 / noindex is not there lol.

    Thanks

Update: I also looked at the source code via https://www.view-page-source.com/ and I cannot see the noindex on line 39.

    Hello,

It seems the noindex tag is no longer in your page source. I had also checked your URL with third party tools such as https://smallseotools.com/meta-tags-analyzer/ and they were confirming the URL was set to noindex. I checked and now it seems to be set to index.

Please head over to your GSC and request indexing for that URL and let us know if the issue persists.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
