Google can’t fetch .xml file

I’ve tried twice to submit an xml sitemap to Google. In each case I see the status of “couldn’t fetch”. The reason is a general http error. I don’t know what this is. I went into permalinks and did a save. I checked the edit robots.txt and there’s nothing there.

    Please advise, thanks.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I tried to check your website but it seems it has not a valid SSL certificate (so HTTPS is not working), the homepage is an ads parking page and also the URL for the sitemap seems down: http://cape-inc.com/sitemap_index.xml

    Could you check it?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Thanks for responding. The website had a glitch which has been fixed. The sitemap noted in Rankmath sitemap settings is https://cape-inc.com/sitemap_index.xml

The https is working as the site shows as being secure in both Chrome & Firefox browsers.

    Regards,
    Shawn

    Hello,

I have just checked but the sitemaps seem to be loading fine for me, could you check them?

    Looking forward to help you.

When I click on Search Console then Sitemaps in RankMath I see an empty chart that says No sitemaps submitted. I submitted a sitemap to Google two or three days ago which was confirmed.

    Hello,

We use Google API to fetch the data from your GSC which can be lagging sometimes. If you have recently submitted your sitemap to the GSC and it shows no errors, please give it sometime then click on refresh sitemaps in Rank math > Search Console.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Thanks for responding. The sitemap was submitted late last week.

    Shawn

    Hello,

Did you try to refresh the sitemaps? If so, then we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

Thanks for responding, the sitemaps have been successfully submitted to Google Search Console.

    Regards,
    Shawn
