Google Analytics Tracking

#837522
  • Hello, I connected my wordpress account (touristtolocal.com) to google analytics this morning via RankMath’s tool, but in the tag manager on google analytics, it says the tag isn’t present on my site. I cleared my cache already and did see that it’s in the page source, so I’m not sure why no data is being connected. I was previously using MonsterInsights. Can you please assist?

  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing with Google Analytics tracking on your website touristtolocal.com after connecting it via Rank Math. It seems like the tag isn’t being recognized in the Google Analytics Tag Manager even though it’s present in the page source.

To troubleshoot this issue, please follow these steps:

    1. Check Google Analytics Version: Ensure that you have connected the correct version of Google Analytics (GA3 or GA4) in Rank Math. If you’ve connected to GA4, make sure the correct tracking code is added.

    2. Verify Tracking Code: Use the Tag Assistant tool from Google to verify if the correct Analytics code has been added to the frontend. You can follow the steps mentioned in our guide here.

    3. Clear Cache: Clear your website’s cache and check if the tracking code is added correctly to the frontend.

If after following these steps, the issue persists, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for reaching out, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue for you.

    Best regards.

Hello, unfortunately I’m still having issues despite trying this.

    Hello,

We’ve checked your site using https://tagassistant.google.com/, and the tag has already been added as well in the page’s source code.

Could you please share an image from your Analytics dashboard and your organic traffic data from Google Search Console for the last 30 or 15 days so we can compare it with the data coming through in the Analytics module?

You can upload screenshots using this tool and add the link here.

Meanwhile, please note that the statistics shown in Rank Math’s Analytics section would not fully match the Google Search Console and Analytics because of the situation mentioned here:

    Looking forward to helping you.

Google analytics began tracking data when I set up my site yesterday with monsterinsights. When I turned it off this morning and switched to rankmath, data stopped being collected. When I open up the realtime analytics, for example, it doesn’t detect that I am currently viewing my website on two different computers that aren’t logged into wordpress.

    Hello,

Assuming you have already turned on the option “Install Analytics Code” in Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics and the issue persists, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress login in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

We can see using the Tag Assistant tool from Google that the website is firing the tag: G-LCG3RB37F7

Looking at the source code of the website we also see this present in the code and it’s coming from our plugin so we can be sure that the installation of the tracking code is working as expected.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Unfortunately, I’m still not receiving any data on google analytics. I have had friends and family view the website yesterday, but it doesn’t appear in google analytics. Additionally, google analytics still says the tag isn’t tracking: https://imgur.com/a/8l9JmFS

It’s now working – there was a tag that I needed to redirect in google analytics

    Hello,

We are glad that everything has been sorted out.

Please feel free to reach out to us again in case you need any other assistance.

    We are here to help.

    Thank you.
