Getting infinite loops on my redirection

Hi, I am trying to redirect a URL that has /hosting/ which is in the middle of the URL to the new URL that has /web-hosting/ in the middle of the URL. The rest of the URL before and after are the same.

E.G. http://www.thisisanexample.com/hosting/abcdefgh/12345/ to be redirected to http://www.thisisanexample.com/web-hosting/abcdefgh/12345/

I have set the redirection as:
Source URL (END WITH): hosting/abcdefgh/12345/
Destination URL: http://www.thisisanexample.com/web-hosting/abcdefgh/12345/

Redirection type is 301 Permanent Move.

When I activate it, it keeps going on an infinite loop, I believe is because ‘hosting’ is at the end of ‘web-hosting’ as well.

I need to solve this issue and I am looking for any guidance. Thank you.

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

Instead of using the end with option, you need to choose the exact option from the drop-down.

The reason you are getting a loop is that both your source and target URLs end with hosting/abcdefgh/12345/ which is what’s causing the infinite redirections from source to the target to the source again.
