General HTTP Error w. Sitemap in Search Console

    Hi there,

    I tried everything from all the other threads, but for some reason the sitemap of robotic-eyes.com cannot be read by the search console (see pic). https://ibb.co/4PV4KZx

    I temporarily disable WP Rocket and ALL other caching on the server-side.
    Also tried everything else, deactivated stackpath and so on..

    Please advise on how to fix that. I can access the sitemap index normally as well as the page index. Indexing API also works fine, ownership is right and so forth.. https://robotic-eyes.com/sitemap_index.xml

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    Assuming caching is still disabled, please do the following:

    1. Head over to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks

    Hit the save button once.

    2. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Sitemap Settings, change links per sitemap to a different value

    Hit the save button once.

    3. Go to your GSC, remove any previously submitted sitemap and resubmit only the main sitemap URL(sitemap_index.xml)

    That should fix the issue.

    If it doesn’t, please do let us know so we can look at this further.

    Hello,

    I wanted to add that the last read date on the problematic sitemap is 9/11. The issue is no longer there as confirmed using this 3rd party tool:

    Edit: I think the issue is that the sitemap IN rankmath is shown as http while the actual URL is https…Changed it the site-url to https in general and… IT WORKED!!!!

    Hi Alberto,

    nope, thank you, that is all. However, some feedback: I’d really put emphasis in your documentation to make sure that the submitted sitemap needs to be the same as the one generated in rankmath (http/https) otherwise it won’t work. I’m sure that someone might encounter this issue sometime in the future.
