He comprobado el paso 1, las metas og:image están habilitadas, css no ha sido modificado. Es una web muy simple y sin tocar nada del código en el tema.Antes tenía el Yoast Seo y podía compartir los enlaces sin ningún problema con sus imágenes destacadas, pero he hecho una comprobación y hay algunas páginas/entradas que comparten su imagen destacada asignada, otras no la comparten y en otras directamente comparten el logo por defecto.
No se de programación y me daría lástima tener que desinstalar el plugin por simplemente el tema de las imágenes destacadas porque por lo demás estoy encantado.
