We are facing a severe issue: the featured image is not visible on LinkedIn. It is due to Rank Math, as before the update, this issue was visible. It is on many of our websites where rank math is installed. Please have a look and solve it as soon as possible.

  • Hello, I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with the featured image not being visible on LinkedIn after the Rank Math update. This can be quite frustrating, and I understand the urgency in resolving this matter.

To ensure that the Open Graph image is set up correctly for your posts and pages, you can follow these steps:

    1. Set the Default Open Graph Image Using Rank Math:

      • Navigate to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math → Titles & Meta → Global → OpenGraph Thumbnail.
      • Click on the Add or Upload File button and set your image. Finally, click on Save Changes.
    2. Set Open Graph Image for Homepage Using Rank Math:

      • If you need to set a specific Open Graph image for your homepage, you can configure it through Rank Math as well.
    3. Configure Facebook App ID in Rank Math:

      • Ensure that your Facebook App ID is correctly configured in Rank Math.

If you’ve already followed these steps and are still encountering issues, it’s best to reach out to the Rank Math support team for further assistance. You can open a support ticket here. They will be able to provide more specific guidance based on your website’s configuration.

If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please feel free to let us know.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

We checked the url on linkedIn post inspector and we can see that the image does not appear.

Upon checking we can see that you have used an image of size 600 px X 400 px.

However the recommended size for images is 1200 px X 600 px.

Please upload the image with the recommended size so that the thumbnail appears.

We hope that helps, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Thank you for your assistance.

I have adjusted the image following the specified pixel dimensions. Unfortunately, the image is still not being fetched by LinkedIn.

    Hello,

I’ve checked the post inspector, and it seems that LinkedIn is not using the og:image meta tag on your site. You can check the page’s source code that Rank Math already outputs the metadata correctly.

In this case, please note that LinkedIn prioritizes the oEmbed code instead of the OpenGraph meta tags

For a workaround, you can add this in the last line of your active child/theme’s functions.php file, and this will remove links on your site:

    remove_action( 'wp_head', 'wp_oembed_add_discovery_links', 10 );

Please take a complete backup of your website before applying any filter on your site.

Once done, clear your website’s cache and check again using the inspector tool.

Let us know how this goes.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I have implemented the changes in the functions.php file based on your recommendations. However, the issue with the featured image persists. For your convenience, I have attached a screenshot for you to provide additional clarity. I would greatly appreciate your continued assistance.

    Hello,

The oembed code from your screenshot is currently commented. Please remove the forward slashes (//) and clear your website caches.

    See if that would work.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you for your response.

I am pleased to inform you that the code is now functioning correctly, and the oEmbed links have been successfully removed from the site. However, despite these adjustments, the featured image is still not appearing on LinkedIn.

As per instruction, we have made the necessary changes to the site. Regrettably, the issue persists despite these changes. I kindly request your careful examination of the problem and would appreciate your clarification on the specific factors contributing to this issue.

    Hello,

Our plugin is adding the correct OpenGraph tags. However, LinkedIn is not able to fetch value for the OG Image tag for your site. I even checked with Yoast, and the results are the same. You should check with LinkedIn’s support, as they might be able to provide more insights on why they cannot fetch the image even when the OG Image tag is already present.

Please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello,
