I am also getting this error and performed the steps outlined in the link mentioned and I was unable to isolate a theme or plugin to the problem. Everything was fine and nothing changed other than the update to the Rank Math plugin.
Is there a way to get the older version?
I figured it out.
Basically had to go to my host provider and have them upgrade my php to 7.3
That worked for me.
Thank you for your advice, but there is only one plugin activated – Polylang. And after the last update of Rank Math (well, not today’s update), Polylang cannot be deactivated.
I have already try to switch PHP ver to 7.3., but without any result.

I am Facing the same issue + there is a problem with that toubleshooting plugin when i am trying to enable the plugin one by one. the trouble shooting mode is going off and i must start again from activating the mode then trying to enable the plugins.

Update – it seems that with a PHP 7.3 and current version it is OK. I need to check other user’s roles to check, if there isn’t problem there.

This issue is caused by PHP 5.6
We recommend that you upgrade your PHP since PHP 5.6 is a 6-year-old technology that was released in 2014.
In the meantime, we are also working on a way to make it work for older versions of PHP for users that cannot upgrade for one reason or the other.

Indeed, there are no compatibility problems with the plugins I have installed and the error persists. But the PHP version of the server is 5.6.40-1 ~ dotdeb + 7.1.
In my case, updating PHP is difficult (shared server), because it has to follow a long process (up to months) and it is also not certain that the request will proceed (hard to believe but true).
