FAQ MainEntity Missing

I’m getting an error on GSC saying my FAQ MainEntity is missing. It’s only flagging my blog page and one of my blog posts. I have over 100 posts that have the same FAQ on the bottom of the post and I’m not having this issue on those. Do you know why this is popping up? I checked the Google Rich Snippit tool and it also is giving the same error. There is nothing different about this post and my other 100 posts.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked the schema error on your post, and it seems that it is not coming from Rank Math’s schema. Upon checking, that FAQ schema is possibly being generated by your Kadence theme/plugin.

You can also test your page upon temporarily disabling the theme/plugin or using our guide here:

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Adding to my colleague’s response, we do not recommend using multiple schema plugins.

You can then get in touch with the devs of the plugin generating the schema as they would be in a better position to fix the issue.

Just to mention, you can easily add FAQ schema/block with Rank Math. Here’s a guide regarding it: https://rankmath.com/kb/faq-schema-block/

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

I talked to Kadence and they said they have their own scheme on their theme. They gave me a code to add that’ll disable their schema. I have a few questions hopefully you can answer..

    1) Does this mean that RankMath doesn’t work well with the Kadence theme? It seems like they would conflict with each other if they both have schema.

    2) Why is this only happening on 1 blog post when I have over 100 blog posts with FAQ on it? You’d think every page would get flagged by GSC.

    3) Will the RankMath schema only get applied if I use the FAQ Rank Math widget? Right now everyone blog post I have has the Kadence Accordion FAQ which includes a box that I checked on it that says “Enable FAQ Schema”. I like how their FAQ accordion is styled…..so I’m hoping I don’t have to go on every blog post and replace it with the FAQ Rank Math widget.

    4) This goes along with my #3 question. Kadence gave me a code to put on my site that will disable their schema. Will that fix everything and cause RankMath to be able to use my Kadence Accordion FAQ as the schema? Or again…..will I need to delete all my current FAQs and replace them with the RankMath FAQ widget?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

    1. It is always recommended to use only one plugin for a specific task. If you’re using Rank Math’s schema, then you should avoid using schema from any other plugin/theme to avoid any possible conflicts.

    2. Since the schema generated by Kadence is not valid, an error is shown for it. If the same invalid schema is generated on other posts as well, then yes, errors would be present on all of them.

    3. In the free version of Rank Math, we add the FAQ schema to the pages where the default FAQ block of Rank Math or the Accordion widget of Elementor is used.

In the PRO version, we provide the FAQ schema in the schema list so you can directly add that without adding the FAQ block.

    4. Adding that code would remove the FAQ schema by Kedence but would not apply the FAQ schema by Rank Math since the FAQ block of Rank Math would not be found.

In this case, unfortunately, you would have to manually apply the FAQ schema to all the posts.

However, if you’re not having any other issues (or not facing any conflicts), then since Kedence is adding an invalid schema, you may ask them about that so they can add a valid schema and see if the issue gets fixed. But again, we do not recommend having multiple plugins generating schemas to avoid any possible conflicts.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the help. You guys have excellent customer service and quick responses! I can’t tell you how refreshing that is after dealing with so many other companies with poor CS.

I ended up deleting the FAQ on that single post and then re-created it. Now it seems to be working fine with no schema issues! Not sure what happened.

You’re saying that if I go with RankMath Pro…..then I could still use the Accordion block from Kadence and apply RankMath schema to it? I think the FAQ schema from Kadence only gets applied when I check the “Enable FAQ Schema” button on the Accordion. If I left that button unchecked, then I could then use the RankMath schema for that Accordion/FAQ section with RankMath Pro?

    Chad

    Hello,

Yes, if you don’t enable the FAQ Schema of the Kadence block then you can use Rank Math PRO to manually add a FAQ Schema to your post.

    Hope this helps.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch in case you need any other assistance.

    Thanks.
