  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    I added the login token

    Hello,

Please disable the fallback option as that is not playing well with your setup. The URL is getting registered as a 404 before the 301 kicks in which is sending it to the homepage and since Rank Math passes the query parameters – it is causing a loop.

What that means is that you should disable the fallback to homepage option.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hi,
But isn’t the fallback to homepage maintain link juice for broken backlinks?

    Hello,

No, it is not recommended to redirect all 404s to the homepage. It offers a poor user-experience and doesn’t maintain link juice at all if the 404s are completely irrelevant to the homepage.

It would be like sending all the wandering traffic to the front of a superstore. It confuses users and makes them bounce which in turn is a poor SEO technique and hence not recommended.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    thank you very much

One more thing, what is better for Redirection Type 301 or 410?

    Hi,

The 410 is not a redirect. It is only a status code and it is to be used for pages that are deleted and there is nothing on your website you can redirect them to. For example, if you had a page about cars and you deleted it and now you don’t have any page about cars that you can redirect it to. In such cases, use the 410.

For other cases where you are combining relevant content or want to redirect a URL to something more relevant – then use 301 redirect.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Thank you very much for your help and time
