Hi,
We’ve noticed that external redirects all point to /wp-admin/. Previously we were using the Redirections plugin, but on a recent change we migrated to rank math. It copied the redirects across and internal redirects work fine, but external ones don’t. We’re hosted on wordpress.com.
If I’m logged into wordpress, the redirects work fine. Because of this the debugger always shows the redirects working. If I try a link in a different browser or curl without logging in, external redirects go to /wp-admin/. This is the same for all external – ie other site – redirects.
I’ve followed the guide at https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/ and there were no conflicts, the health check said everything was fine. I’ve had to re-enable the redirections plugin as well as rank math which is obviously an issue for us. We’d like to fix this and stick with Rank Math rather than going back to Jetpack and the Redirections plugin.
I’ve had a look through the forum and disabled the redirect attachments option under General Settings -> Links and tried again, but no success. I’ve disabled redirects to make sure there isn’t existing media at that location and it 404s. The redirections plugin definitely works fine, it’s just something in Rank Math.
Do you have any other ideas of what to check? I can provide further info or access via wordpress.com if needed.
