Hi, I found instructions for exporting Rank Math from one site so that I can import it into the new one that is in development. But I do not have the import/export option. Any ideas on why or where I could find this?

  • Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

Please note that some options are only available when you enable the Advanced Mode in Rank Math. We give you an option to choose between the two during the setup wizard and you must have chosen to use the Easy Mode.

You can switch to the Advanced Mode from the top-right corner at WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard

Here is a screenshot for reference:

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

OK thank you. Found it! I guess it is not going to add the SEO titles, etc. to the pages as I’d hoped. The urls are different because I am working on a development site. Does it work once I make the website live with the same urls?

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Do you mean importing from dev site to live site with the same URLs? yes, it should without issues, but if you have, we will be more than happy to help you.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Kind of… I have a live site and have done the work there. But I’ve redesigned it so I want to add the data to the pages. The pages should be the same.

    Example:

    https://bellairebandb.com/accommodations/
    to
    https://bellairebandb.sitedev.us/accommodations/

I imported but the pages on the .sitedev.us version did not have the updates.

    Hello,

The focus keywords and the meta information is stored in the posts table. That means, you you can export them along with the post/page content using WordPress’ built in export/import too.

Please head over to WordPress Dashboard > Tools > Export.

Take an export of your content.

Then, import it from WordPress Dashboard > Dashboard > Import.

    That should do the trick.

The only thing you need to pay attention is towards the canonical tag. If you have entered a hard coded canonical via Rank Math, you will need to update that after the URL of your website changes.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

it is 100% not importing the keywords and meta info.
I was exporting and importing from the Rank Math dashboard.
I then reread your reply so I looked at the WordPress import/export.
I do not see that the SEO data is exportable.

    Hello,

It should be exported automatically inside the exported posts since the SEO data is stored inside the posts as metadata and WordPress exports the posts with metadata, you don’t need to mark any SEO export option there.

    Looking forward to help you.

Oh ok I see. I actually already have the pages (no posts) and they are redesigned so I was hoping to only export the SEO data. Maybe I can’t?

    Hello,

Could you please let us know which specific SEO data you feel it’s not exported and you want to export?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    the focus keywords, titles, descriptions

    Hello,

To quote a previous reply from my colleague:
The focus keywords and the meta information is stored in the posts table.

If you are able to export the posts table then be assured the meta is included in the same. They are not saved separately so you wouldn’t find an option to export/import them separately.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
