Hi, I want to exclude 2 urls on sitemap. I put in the post ID in the exclude posts column, like 46,47. When I check the sitemap, the urls are still there. What can I do? Thank you.

  • Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch.

It is likely your sitemap is till being cached. Could you please share your sitemap URL and the URLs supposed to be excluded so we can check from our end?

You can also exclude the pages from sitemap by adding a custom canonical URL or setting them to noindex in the advanced tab of Rank math metabox.

Once done, can you please follow these steps?
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article: https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

That should fix the issue. Please let me know if that does not. We are here to assist.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hi,
I follow all those steps but the urls I want to exclude are still on the sitemap. Thank you.

    Hello,

These should be excluded from the sitemap by default as they are usually set to noindex.

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

If the issue persists, please record a video screencast using a tool like Loom showing the troubleshooting and edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
