Exclude Product Tag from Remove base - Support

Hello,

In Woocommerce’s settings in Rank Math, I use “Remove base” in order to get rid of things like /sho/ and /product/ and …

But I need some of them. For example, I need to keep /product-tag/ base, otherwise, we’ll have conflicts of URLs between the product tags and products, as some of the products’ titles are exactly like some of the product tags.

Is there an option (and if not, is there a snippet) that can solve this issue?

Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

The Remove Base option only removes the base from the product URL. It will not affect the URL of your product tags.

Alright, it seems that you are right in that part, but then I believe I found a bug. (when Remove Base is enabled, it redirects the tags to the product page, if the tag and product name are exactly the same)

I recorded a video and posted it in the “Sensitive Data” field. Please watch that to see what I mean.

Hello,

We have tested this locally and disabled the product redirections that we add in the plugin to see what the behavior was on those pages and we saw something strange where the products were being loaded on the actual tag pages.

This was even without the redirection happening.

We have already escalated this to the dev team and shared all the debugging steps so they will be able to replicate it and provide further insights into what’s exactly happening.

I’ve edited the Sensitive Data and included a link to a second video.

Please watch that.

Is there an update on this? It’s been 24 days and this is a critical issue as we can’t show 2 brand pages on the website and it is causing unwanted 301 errors.

This issue causes URL’s for products, categories, tags and brands to redirect to the wrong pages: Products are being loaded when going to categories or brands.
It DESTROYS the website and SEO.

Please be so kind to escalate this showstopper issue to critical priority. We really need an urgent fix for this. I appreciate that your devs need time to look into this and resolve it. Please put it at the top of your priorities.
