Errors after removing base and category base for WooCommerce

Whenever I go to General Settings > WooCommerce and set the “Remove base” and “Remove category base” to “on,” then test on the front end, I’m coming across some issues.

If I select a category from my website’s menu, I get a 404 error, as there is no redirect. Secondly, if I search for an item using the site’s search box, I get a “too many redirect loops” error message.

Besides changing the settings in General Settings > WooCommerce, are there any other settings I need to adjust to make this work properly?

    Hi,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

You have more than 28000 redirects added in WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Redirections.

It is highly likely that you have an incorrect redirect that is causing a loop on the search pages.

In most cases, I would recommend disabling all redirects and enabling them one by one but it would be time consuming in your case.

It looks like all your old URls are set to be 410 which might be the reason for getting a page not fount error.

I have enabled the redirect debug mode for you so you will be able to get more information on your redirects to determine what’s causing the issue.

    Thank you.
