error in my website sitemap

Can you please follow these steps?
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

That should fix the issue.

If the issue persists, please share the Sitemap URL in the sensitive data section so we can check.

I checked the sitemap, it is returning a 404 error.

Please make sure that you have followed step 2 in my previous reply and excluded the sitemaps from caching.

I’ll also suggest to add this filter in the theme’s functions.php file:

add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

Once done, clear your website cache and resubmit the sitemap_index.xml again.
