Elementor Theme Builder and Link Counter

    Hi there,

We are using Elementor, and the theme builders.

So most of the website is built this way:
    • Header
    • The Post
    • Footer

In the footer, we have a section with the related posts or other custom post types, which technically are also internal linking.

For my authors’ sake, is there a workaround or a solution for RankMath to look at the whole page and not just at the “The Post” Section for internal linking.

    Hi Steph,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

We can only check for the internal links (or any content for that matter) placed inside the Elementor content area. We do not look for the widgets, headers, footers, or any related posts placed using custom coding or plugins.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Dear Todd,

Thank you for your reply, I understand.
I also assume that links not present in the ‘main content’ count for less as link juice goes.

However, the footer and header are part of Elementor’s built-in theme builder, and putting related posts throughout the website as the top element of the footer is not uncommon. Something to consider 🙂

    Hello Steph,

That is correct. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have that test because obviously every page at least has a homepage link to the homepage so technically – every single page on your website already has an internal link but those are usually not counted by Google or they have very little value when it comes to link juice.

We have taken note of your suggestion though and we will see what we can do about that.

    Thank you.
