Hi,
I have a problem with Elementor and Rankmath. When I want to save a page on my website it is very slow with Rankmath turned on. When I disable the Rankmath plugin everything seems running fine. I also see when I save the page that the whole WP enviroment freezes.
What can cause this problem?

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
We’ve checked your staging site’s configuration if there are some PHP values that are too low and that you should increase. You can get in touch with your web host and ask them to set the following values:
PHP Memory Limit: 512M Max input time: 150 PHP time limit: 120 PHP max input variables: 1000
Then, clear your website’s cache and check again.
Let us know how this goes.
Thank you.
Hi,
I have increased the php memory limit and the PHP max input variables is set to 3000.The website is still saving very slow.
What are the next steps?
Hello,
Thank you for your patience.
We’ve checked your staging site, and some of the PHP values are still the same:
PHP Memory Limit: 512M Max input time: 150
Could you please update them as well so we can investigate the issue further?
Looking forward to helping you.

Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
We checked your live site and we can see that the Max input time is still at 60. We recommend you set it to 150.
In any case, we did check saving an Elementor post with Rank Math active and the post was saving normally. Can you please confirm if this happens with a specific post or post type? If specific, can you please share the direct URL to the post you’re getting the error on?
Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Hi,
I asked the host to change the max imput time. The post is indeed saving but it takes for me more then 30 seconds to save and the whole site is not accesable at that time
Hello,
Would you be able to record a short video of this delay? When I checked on your end, I didn’t really experience any noticeable delay. You can use loom.com to record a short video quickly for us to review.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Hi,
You can download the video here. https://we.tl/t-mU5jpqRqhF.
This is not network related i am connected to 1000mbit lan connection.
I hope you can check it out!
Hello,
It appears the increase for
Max input time
recommended by my colleague HERE has not been implemented.Since you implied that the issue persists in a different environment (staging environment). This can be a hosting-related or server problem.
Server capacity can also be a contributing factor to slow website performance and delays during saving or editing pages in WordPress. Here are some server-related issues that can impact your website’s speed and performance:
– If your website is hosted on a shared hosting plan, you might be sharing server resources with other websites. If these sites experience high traffic or resource usage, it can affect your site’s performance.
– Your hosting plan may not provide sufficient resources (CPU, RAM, etc.) for your website’s needs. Upgrading to a higher-tier plan or a managed hosting service might help.
– The physical location of your server can affect loading times. A server closer to your target audience can improve performance.
– Slow server response times can result in delays. This can be caused by server overload, inefficient server configurations, or issues with your hosting provider.
If you suspect server capacity or performance is causing the delays in saving your WordPress pages, consider these steps:
– Implementing server-side caching can help speed up your website. Many hosting providers offer caching solutions that can reduce server load.
– Using a CDN can distribute your site’s content to servers around the world, reducing the load on your main server and improving load times for users in different geographic locations.
– Server optimization and configuration can be crucial. Proper server settings, PHP versions, and database optimization can make a significant difference.
– Reach out to your hosting provider’s support team. They can often help identify and resolve server-related issues. They might recommend upgrading your hosting plan or optimizing server settings.
We hope this helps. Please let us know if you have further questions or concerns.
Thank you.
